cannot restore stock tune on my 2016 Z06 Corvette

Post by dynajohn »

I have a Trinity 2 EX with tunes for two vehicles (2016 Corvette Z06 & 2016 Silverado) I had a problem with my tuner and when tech support could not solve the problem online I was instructed to send it back for repair. It came back from Powerteq (RMA # E166875) saying they replaced the display & OBD11 cable and said that they replaced the unit in another place on the repair sheet??? I only had the Corvette tune on the programmer before I sent it in for repair and I sent a note with it specifically asking repair to make sure they put my stock tune in the tuner if they replaced or repaired it. I downloaded a 93 octane Diablo tune into the Corvette before it needed repair and I am needing to restore my stock tune before taking the car to the dealer for warranty service Monday Dec 17th. I tried to restore the stock tune tonight but either I am doing something wrong or there is another problem. When plugged into the OBD11 on the Corvette the unit powers up and goes to the main screen. I select tune and only get two choices (tune vehicle & custom tune). There is no restore vehicle choice as shown in the tuning section of the instructions. I cannot use the force calibration update or force restore function under tech support without tech support and they are closed down. The Silverado tune was added after the repair and I have changed between the 93 octane tune & other selected tunes several times without a problem. I have not tried to restore the stock tune on the Silverado so I don't know if it works on the 2nd vehicle or not. Any suggestions?? Big problem if this tuner came back without the stock tune file which I want for warranty service.

Call tech support and a few emails and they will have it fixed. I had to do it when I got my tuner back from repair, sheet said screen replacement but they actually replaced the unit.
