Rich or Lean?

Ok,

so i was trying to ask this earlier, but someone just said, go buy this wide band and blah blah blah, marked my question as answered. Trust me, im gonna buy it, unfortunately i work for a bank, and as you can tell we arent doing to well right now so money is short.

07 Gt, 5 speed manual, Airaid CAI, throttle body spacer, pypes off road x pipe, borla axel back mufflers, and Predator u7145.

I just installed this new off road x pipe, and i turned off the O2 sensors.

Is this going to make my car run rich or lean with the difference in airflow into and out of th engine? I am going to get it dyno tuned at a shop close to me in the coming weeks cause i want to make sure its running at the peak and i also want to know my bragging rights, but for now can someone give me some info on it so i can tweak my tune to make sure im not gonna fry my piston rings cause im running lean. It seems a little sluggish and it also hesitates to start when i turn it on, I'm wondering if thats dirty plugs from unburnt gas (carbon deposits).

If anyone can help me with this and give me an honest straight foward answer that helps me i will post my dyno sheets when i do them. I was gonna do that anyways, but please.

fordfan1964, A good flowing CAI will most likely cause a lean condition which will need to be addressed. The predator has a tune on it for the Airaid CAI. By installing this tune it will compensate for the increase in airflow. I hope this helps you out.

What is it you are exactly asking? Is your car rich or lean. Like you were told before the only way to know for sure is to have something to monitor the air/fuel ratio. That being either a a/f gauge or a session on a dyno so the parameters can be monitored. Does this help you in any way?

basically asking if anyone has experience with this set up. I had a 2001 escape with a CAI and it ran lean for a good 3 years and then the engine went out spark plugs melting and pistons going bad. The whole block had to be replaced. So I'm trying to find out if my car is running rich or lean and if anyone has any tips so I can modify the tune so my car won't recieve any damage before I can get a dyno tune.

Any body with experience with a similar set up. Do I retard timing a little.

Not sure if this will help you at all because i dont have same engine, I have an O4 gt with simular setup(BBK O/R X, BBK CAI,Diablo tune, and i have a Wideband AFR, What i found is that with the CAI installed and the rear o2's disabled your car will tend to run rich! My MAF volts went up at part throttle after CAI was installed and it started dumping more fuel in! So much that i was running 11 and 10 AFR causing knock and triggering code. THis only happed with the install of the CAI it was ok with the O/R pipe alone. I leaned up until my afr was around 12.5 WOT, For my car that was 0 @ 2k-5k and +2 lean @ 4k-RL! After a few hours driving no more engine light and a considerable amont of power and throttle response. I know a great price on AFR wideband controler and guage if your interrested! Its well worth the investment if your gonna be tuning at all!! hope this helps

Assuming you are running the Airaid tune, it is not lean.
