2016 z51 new tuner locked up during tune

I have a 2016 Corvette z51 (stock, no mods) and bought my new Diablo sport tuner (fully updated with latest software from web site) and tried loading in the canned 93 octane tune an hour ago.

The tuner locked up in the process and told me to reboot and reload the stock tune.

The car runs chugging and at idle only and now says on the dash says "engine power is reduced".

I tried to find the original stock GM file on the Diablo (on my PC) and it only shows 1 tune (in the tunes file) and 2 files associated with that tune; ECM_12671496_ Backup.grg and TCM_24280569_Backup.grg both created yesterday at 11:44pm?? (which makes no sense as I just tried the new unit for the first time an hour ago).

Please help as my car is now stuck in the garage with no phone support until Monday.

Well, I can tell you from personal experience that I've done a TON of these cars and have never had anyone not be able to select/install a tune and have the car run correctly...

So...

install the Ignition Updater (Update Agent) software on your Windows PC...

then, start up the ignition updater program on your PC...

then connect your intune to your PC...

and the updater software will detect your intune and download/install all of the latest updates...

Once that is complete, then connect to your car again and select/install the preset canned tunes from the Tune Vehicle - Advanced Mode menu....

if you STILL have issues after that, then you'll have to contact diablo tech support on Monday...

It took several more times of trying to restore and clearing codes, but it is finally back to stock and running as it did before trying the tuner.

I think at this point its really going to take a lot for me to connect this tuner back on my car and try anything with it again.

Funny thing is I had one of these on my Charger and it worked great, on my Vette, not so much...

Make sure voltage was good, no electronics on in the car, etc.

Did all that, and rechecked for unit for updates.

Tried again this morning and it loaded the 93 octane tune but the care went immediately into limbo mode.

reloaded the stock tune, and now its back to limp mode.

codes showing intake issues. Cleared those and tried again, but still in limp mode with stock tines kicking codes.

Update:

Tech support helped today (thank you thank you thank you!) and had me disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. That seemed to take it out of limp mode and is running with the 93 tune on it now.

My concern is that any other changes to the tune will now always require a battery disconnect to complete?

Does anyone else with a Corvette C7 have this issue as well?

this is not something I see as an issue on any other c7s.

yeah, same here.. I've done a ton of these cars and no-one has had any issue like that at all...
