I am worried

Post by kw5.9 »

I put my truck in the shop, I took off the programs, the boostfooler, and the puck, they told me cylinders 1,2,3 were not firing, they questioned me about the velcro on the fuse box, for the puck(i fogot to take off)they asked if I had any kind of box on the truck, I told them I was the only owner of truck and had never had a box on there, I revised the predator about 2weeks ago with the new revision so I hope key counts are not going to be an issue, but can any one give me some words of advise so when they throw questions at me I know what the answer needs to be.
Thanks

thats gonna be a tough one,its gonna be hard to make up somthing about the velcro, hope they dont dig further into the ecm to check highest levels and such, did the truck actually drive only running on 3 cyls?its probaly the injectors, they seem to be failing alot on the 06 and ups.just deny, deny, deny i guess,if your dealer is cool u should be ok.

I know, I will deny everything, I bought the truck with 64 miles and told I have always noticed that, but they might dig in, I was talking to the guy that writes up the tickets and then the mechanic that was working on the truck came up and started grilling me, yes it ran on 3 and I drove about 25 miles like that to get it to the dealer, top speed was 50mph, thats all she had, I guess worst case I will be install 3 injectors... But can they really prove anything...I mean its mechanical so pretty much anything can happen ....right??

Yeah this is a though one, it is very much up to the dealer as they do not get paid the same amount for warranty work and they will most likely try their hardest to get you to pay for it.
It sounds to me like your injectors went south, very common on the 06-07's, i do not see any tsb's in regards to that however.
If the dealer seems like a hard ass it might be better to try another dealer if you have that option.

They have had it since yesterday at 2pm, with it running only on 3 cylinders I would have a hard time getting it any where that might really raise a red flag, I havent heard from them since yesterday I hope they arent trying to tear in to the ecm......Should i hound them on the time it is taking to fix the truck...

So they kind of got you by the ****. Hmm, i would probably be as nice as i could to them and deny and or act like you have no idea what they are talking about.
Maybe mention that you have read forums and that the injectors going bad seems to be a common issue.

just got off the phone with dealer and they were going to put the truck in the shop this a.m. and the truck ran fine, they think wiring problems in the harness for the 1,2,3,cylinders, I might be out of the woods.....maybe!?

Well I got my truck back and they did the work under warranty...The problem was"a bad connector in the valve cover and wirirng" and that controlled fuel injection group 1 supply voltage circuit open....You dont think that the pred/puck/boost fooler had any part in something like that or was just a bad connector? Any body elese have had such an issue??
Thanks Kyle
