Fordtech gets firstclass support

Fordtech wrote to this forum on April 23rd and had new tune file support within days.


My Cal ID is TNAA7y5
The mileage 60 hp tune actually gets me less mileage(15) than when I run stock(17).

I used to use the 85hp tune but now have to use the 100hp to get the results the old 85 gave me.

The 100 Hp gets great mileage but has a strange glich off the start almost seems like a shift up or a hickup. I almost thought I had a 5th gear.

Maybe I should have some custom tunes written but I dont know if it will help cosidering the disabling problem of my Factory Passive Anti theft system.

fordtech wrote a reply to this post and it was deleted. Why? He explained he has been trying to get support for over a year and that a new file was sent to him in e-mail and it did not correct his problems.

Are there just trials and errors in the writing of these tune files? Are there vehicle specific tune files?

I just realized my post was gone? Well anyways is there anything new with the older 7170 I would love to update mine to something that works. I bought mine in 2004 so i assume it is an older revision. I tried 19dz and 19bz wow that one sucked. I can still get fair mielege with 100hp but I can not use it to tow, and the tow tune sucks fuel when loaded, I can tow lightly in 60HP but the mileage is still in the 8pg area I used to get 11 consitantly with tow tune and my big trailer till I updated to dz. Cole I believe gave me 19bz but it double shifted and shifted hard. Very little power diffrence but I was afraid to lay into it with the shifting so abdrupt.

Yes there is a new file revision and you can get the beta.I have read good results. Ask for it and they will send it to you. there is a 40ish hp you could probably try for towing. I am told also a 85 and 110 hp tune. I wonder if the 85 tune is good for towing though I doubt it. I have seen Hypertech, Superchips, and DP all have 80 hp towing tune files and claim EGT's are good but none here yet.

Is there another, WHY could you not give me the original tune it came with back? It really worked great. that was in 2004 Iread about the update and did it what a mistake I lost power, mileage, and towing really sucks now. I may have lost some brain cells to trying to get it fixed.This really is quite irratating.

Hey I have the old crom saved from Dec 06 before these last couple updates if you want it. I think you should seriously consider trying the new 40 hp tune and you can get it from Mike L or Brian M. Just post up and give them your email and they will send it to you and instructions to load it.

Do you know the revision number on the crom file from 06? I pm'd one of the moderators for the other 40 hp file you are refering to have not heard from them yet.

It is still 7r19dz just a previous relese. For some reason they do not change the file names. They revised it and re released it in 9/2007 and that is the one currently being replaced.
