Analog Input I3 Issue

Post by 06SRT300 »

I wired up my PLX wideband to my intune I3, wired the tip of the 2.5 AUX connector to the 0-5v analog, and the base of the 2.5 AUX to ground. The wideband operates and communicates with the Bluetooth module perfect, but when I log it, it doesn’t show up in Dataviewer, I tried it setting up as analog 1, and it removed it from the drop down, so I did it as both, same thing. So I deleted all of them and made my own and still nothing. I’m super lost, just trying to verify I have it setup correctly. I couldn’t find the custom analog PID to add to the datalog section, and saw a post on diablosport’s forum saying you won’t see it but it’s there. I could really use some help here fellas.

Glad you asked the question. I think you are talking about the SM-AFR Multilink, right? I am getting ready to install one also on an 06 300 CSRT8. I thought that I had it figured out until I went to look for an answer to your question. The short answer is yes, it will work if there is a 0-5V analog output that goes to a 3.5mm jack. Pretty sure that is the case since the product description and the manual say so. Now, the instructions for the Multilink are the problem. Connectors and jacks are all mislabeled in the Quickstart guide and there is no explanation of how to connect a separate analog out to a datalogger. In any case, this is not an I3 issue. The I3 will take the 0-5V analog input from a 3.5mm jack. How do we get that from the SM-AFR Multilink is the question? Mine is second hand, so I might be missing a piece but, no way to tell from the instructions. Need to ask PLX support. Let's ask and compare notes.

Thanks for offering to share. I have not heard back yet from PLX. In terms of the jack size, I defer to Mike from DS since there is no spec for their jack that I can find. I thought this was supposed to be plug and play for an analog sensor.

I ordered this connector before your post. Although this has two channels (4 conductor) the tip has no conductor. Does that mean it will not work with the I3?

My bad, I posted the wrong info, yours looks correct assuming its a 2.5mm tip.
