My U7170 is dead, tool says MUST HAVE CROM FILE. When I try to download file nothing happens (predator not found) New transformer Radio Shack # 273-1776 Tip # 273-1717 and Radio Shack 9 pin to USB baud rate at 115200 auto detect off and nothing happens. First time trying to download anything to my predator. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like maybe the driver for the cable is not installed...

I loaded the CD that came with the cable, am am starting to regret buying the Predator.

I assume that you are using DSdownloader? Try looking at the instructions again and going through it step be step. Seems like your missing a step in your updating process.

I have gone through the steps over and over I don't think I am missing a step. I don't even no why it lost the crom file in the first place. I am going to try a different computer today.

Yes please call tech support for them to help walk you through the update process if your still having issues.
