2019 Ram 1500 starts but shuts off

Installed the NEW Trinity EX and PCM today. Went through the updated steps for the T2 and plugged in and stepped thru the process. At first, the engine starts and immediately shuts off. Tried setting a new tune, now the engine will not turn over when the start button is pressed, it just goes into "RUN" mode and that's it. I had to remove the PCM and install the stock one to start and run my truck. I expected issues, but this takes the cake. I tried updating the T2 and get and error "An error has occurred! A timeout occurred while waiting for an operation to complete. Press CONTINUE to reset the device."

I also tried using the PC based updater and it says the T2 is up to date.

did you go through the process of reading the data from the original pcm prior to installing the aftermarket pcm?
It sounds that way as this is the behavior you'll get from a modified pcm that hasn't had that data transferred from the original pcm.

Feel free to give us a call. We can reset the tool, and once you have the stock pcm installed again we can let the device read out the data then install the mod pcm and restore the data to that and it should be good to go.

I "followed" the instructions. I later found out from Rich that those are in the wrong order. I tried reading from the stock PCM but it would never read. What I didn't know, I needed the bypass module installed FIRST to read the stock PCM, that was later in the instructions. So after installing the bypass module, I was able to read the stock PCM, update the T2, install the unlocked PCM and write the stock data to the PCM to tuning.
