xmodem timeout

once plugging by diablo for my 2002 camero u7198 and try to connect to computer i get a XMODEM TIMEOUT. WHat do i do to make it work properly?

What type of cable are you using to connect, If its the DB9 (Serial) connection then it sounds like you have a null modem cable and need to buy a straight through serial cable. If the Tx and Rx lines are cross neither device will see each other properly.
