i just loaded my tune yesterday from my U7191 . i gassed up yesterday at shell 93 octane i was driving around today and i thought i was hearing a ping but it was light so i thought it was a rattle, i slowed down to make a turn in second gear and gave it like half peddle and the rpm at like 3000 i heard a kinda loud ping. it was loud enough for me to let off the gas. the predator comes with 2 tunes a dialbo tune and below that is a 91 octane tune. should i just load the 91 tune instead? i mean like anyone else i want to get the most from my predator . what do you guys think the difference in hp is between the 2 tunes?

OH NO! Not Shell!!!

That gas is not recommended for use with the Predator. Run that stuff out and gas up with something like BP.

You'll see on some other threads in here that Shell is the worst gas on the market.

Just out of curiosity, if a gas is a certain octane, why would it be any different from another and produce pinging? Is it detergents or something?

thanks tons for the info. i put the`stock tune back in till the crap is out of the tank. im off to the dealer tomorrow anyway. information on this fourm or any other is priceless.

i put the bp in there today along with the diablo tune so far sounds good if i do still hear some ping how much should i back off on the timing?

wait a bit for the gas to get through there good... 1/4 tank at least...

if you still have issues, then monitor the Total Knock Spark Retard... if you have any showing, then you would reduce the timing by half that amount...

for example... if you have 4* of TKSR showing, then you would go in and reduce the spark advance to -2%...

note! you can only adjust the spark advance/timing for WOT though... if this is happening during normal driving/cruising, you will have to get a custom tune made to reduce the timing for part throttle...

ill keep an eye on it thanks again for the info. i was talking to someone else with a gto he has a newer version than me i have the 8R09 with the U7191 unit. he had like a 9R01 how could i get that version?

there is no 9r01 for the U7191 predator....
