OK MY CARS JUST COMPLETELY WEIRD #%)(*$)%($!

Post by romeo101477 »

Ok I adjusted the injector slope to larger and it says i'm 11.55% or something and that's not minus how much should I move the slope up? It's at 6% right now. or should I just drive it for 30 miles and see where my ltft's are at?

you need to drive for 30-50 miles to let that new adjustment settle in, then have to recheck your ltft's - that's the only way to know how much you need to adjust your slope to.

what were your LTFT's at before this past slope adjustment?

I dont really remember what it was I think they where ok but my senses and my friends senses where detecting it was very rich hence the smell and the black soot on the lower portion of my side skirts and I let one of my friends drive it and whenever he would floor it there was ALOT of black smoke. Should I just put my slope back to 0?

k...

so what'cha need to do is, select the long term fuel trim bank 1 and bank 2 parameters from the real time data - then go for a steady cruise/drive on the highway... get up to your normal cruising speed, keep it steady, and look at the numbers for the Long Term Fuel Trim Bank 1 and Bank 2 on the predator screen.

What are those numbers?

UM WOW! It was 17.19 at 50 mph in 3rd gear at roughly 2600 rpms now it's 19.53% at the same speed and rpms with the cruise set with the slope set bigger 10%

rpms are too high... just put it in D and drive normally... a normal drive/cruise on the highway...

Romeo,

Two things right up front..

The reason your RPMs are too high at 50 in 3rd is the 4:10s in the rearend.. Go ahead like Lew said and do your logging in drive.

RPMS should be between 1800 and 2500 at highway speeds.

The black soot is probably a combo of two things.. Your LTFTs being out of whack and the fact that you have no CATs.

Did you disable the rear O2 sensors when you removed the cats?

You might have to do that to get your numbers dialed in as the engine may be a little confused right now.

yeah I know what the soot is from and I also know why the RPMS are so high in 3rd gear and I believe I did get the rear 02 codes shut off I do however still have the 02's back there and they are reading when i look at my readings.

GRRRRR now it's even worse then before LOL it's like 20.51% bank 1 and 19.53% bank 2 at 50 mph at 1900 rpm's in drive at idle I'm seing roughly 5.38 bank 1 and 7.81 bank 2, The slope is set at 10% larger so should I go bigger? and if so alot or a lil?

holy shit....

something is not right at ALL...

do you have an aftermarket MAF??? if not, appears like you definitely have an air leak somewhere!! intake, exhaust, throttle body, etc etc...

don't adjust anything else anymore... this is a physical part issue on your vehicle at this point...
