Diablo tune

Post by Kevin33 »

I installed the diablo tune from the diablo intune i3 8245 for GM vehicles and was wondering if I should be running 93 octane fuel instead of 87 octane ?

YES!!! The "Diablo Tune" is a high-octane tune... you have to be using 91-93 octane gas in the vehicle to use the "Diablo Tune"!!!

If you're only using 87/89 octane gas in the truck, then you need to select/install the 87 Octane Tune...

Ok thank you I thought the diablo tune was a flex tune and could run on any grade fuel as the vehicle has a flex fuel sensor ...

If your GM vehicle is a factory Flex-Fuel vehicle, yes you can... and will get worse gas mileage from the e85.... if your GM vehicle is NOT a factory flex-fuel vehicle, then no, you can't run E85.....

Yes it’s factory flex fuel ..Ok so what I’m getting at is since I loaded the diablo performance tune and it’s a high octane tune I can actually run E85 but will get worse gas mileage correct?

I’ve already set my throttle boost to the max 20% on the diablo 8245 tuner ,Will a K&N throttle control module give me more added throttle response ?

On that car the Diablo Tune is for 93 octane gas.

Use the 91 Octane tune if you use 91 octane gas.

you need a custom tune to enable the sensor and ideally to populate the flex side of the cal.
