I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3l. I would like to know how to check if the factory "stock" tune is in the PCM before flashing to the performance tune.

I recently purchased this truck from the dealer, and don't want to take any chances due to the information in the user manual which states: "User MUST ensure that the factory "stock" tune is in the vehicle's PCM before installing the DiabloSport tune.

Thanks

Without having someone physically look at the file that in your pcm there is no way you can tell, other than perhaps see if your speed limiter is still there, chances are if it is still at 95-98mph then the factory tune is indeed intact as any tuner would raise or eliminate it.

What would happen if is wasn't the factory tune?

I thought the Predator replaced any tune that was in the PCM.

Once I get the Predator, can I send you the tune that is is the truck right now, so you can take a look at it for me?

Thanks again.

Sure, apply the Predator tune and email us a copy of the original backup file from the Predator and we can let you know if it was stock.

Thanks
