Stock tune really stock?

Post by h2bob »

Hello,

Without going to the dealer to have the ECU re-flashed, is it possible to check if the stock tune on the car (GM truck) is really stock? All I have is U7193 and can connect it to a PC. Thanks.

As long as the factory back up has been put back into the vehicle, the Stock tune "really" is stock.

I bought a used vehicle from a dealer and want to use the Predator. Is there any way to check if the current tune on the vehicle is stock (I have not used any programmer on this vehicle yet)? Thanks.

Like an actual dealership? If so they normally flash them when they get them. So I wouldn't worry.

I purchased the car from a small local dealership (all makes), I am sure that they did not flash the ECU. Thanks.

Wondering the same thing. Looking at this truck http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/jeep-g ... s136017299 and don't know if the ECU is stock or tuned. It has an intake as you can see by the pics, but I have no idea what, if anything, else.

If you need to know, let the Predator read a copy of the stock file fromthe PCM and email it to me, I can tell you if it is stock.

Since the Predator is married to the car when a tune is installed someone would have to be crazy to leave the Predator tune on the car and then sell it making his $400 Predator useless.
