Predator Dash Attachment

Post by fordomatic69 »

Hey All,

Has anyone attempted to mount the predator somewhere on your dash that would not involve drilling or sticky tape? There is a good reason for my question but I cannot reveal it at this time... it's a surprise

I didn't drill or use sticky tape (actually tried the sticky tape but it didn't hold -- even the permanent type). I used the mounting putty. Does that count? :)

industrial grade/strength velcro works wonders.... a strip on the dash, the other piece on the back of the predator, and just attach and remove at will... holds great...

course, I guess ya could always zip-tie it to a vent too

I was thinking about some sort of a vent mount but I don't think they make anything big enough to hold the size or weight of the predator.

Since there are PID display/datalogger units available(such as the MSD Dashhawk), I'm wondering why you would want to hang a huge item like the Predator from your dash? But that's totally your business. :) You might look into those universal cellphone/PDA mounts that squeeze from both sides. The foam rubber padded "jaws" supply good clamping force & the "shoulder" area of the Predator will help support the weight. You'll probably have to screw mount the holder though.

I was thinking of "Showing off" the predator at various events in and around the area. I was going to use the predator + my new in dash carputer to show the nice guages in the data viewer. as well as mont the predator so it is not just sitting on the seat... I wanted things to look clean.
