Problem after alternator went **#!!*#

Post by schmuly »

I normally drive around in 60 econo except when I put my camper on I change it to 40 tow. That is what I did last weekend, driving home my engine service light came on for about 2 min. then went off. About 10 min later my gauges died, no power windows, battery light came on,etc but the engine kept running. Then twice the gauges came alive, speedo and tach went full tilt then died again. I got home and checked battery cables etc. and found the alt. had no output. Changed alt. and everything worked so I started to change the tune back to 60 econo. and my 7170 said new registration I tryied to change from 40 to the 60 tune and it said extracting original but couldn't because truct already has a performance tune.
So now I can't put my original program back in or change to a different program.( stuck on 40 tow)
2002 7.3 F250 PSD
Pred 7170 booting -7-3
rev v7r19d
What can I do?? Thanks in advance...Colin

So, you powered the tool up and it said 'new registry'?
At no time did you attempt a revision update?

No I didn't attempt a revision update, I had switched programs twice before from 60 to 40 and back to 60 with no problems. The only varible was the dang alt going out. I drove like that for about 1/2 hr to get home. The only revision that there was ,was done about 2 months ago. Check my prior 4 posts if possible. I did hook it up to computer to see what was in the live data about a month ago, but I switched programs 60 to 40 just last monday to go camping .

Any idea on what happened? My original tune is still in the preditor and I still can't change it.

What happens when you try to restore the stock tune?
What does the Predator say?
