Dibalo Performance Tune and 91 Octane Question

Ok so i installed the performance tune that came with my diablo U7146 . When I read the instructions it said since I'm in California and we only have 91 octane and not 93 octane to do a 10% retard so I did. Reading in these forums i says to only do 2% retard for 91 octant so did I do it right or is the instruction booklet wrong?

Also my car was 80% filled with 87 octane gas when I did the tune so i have to wait till I use up the gas before i can fill it up with 91, will this hurt the engine?

You are confusing the 10% retard for the U7146 with the 2* of global spark retard for 05+ Mustangs....

Ok so what I did is change the following 2 settings to "10"

Spark Advance 2k-4k
Spark Advance 4k-7k

So is that right for my 91 octane gas?

Thanks You, I believe that's what I did (I moved it to the left towards retard so i'm guessing that -10)..Is it ok to drive it with the 87 octane until i can fill it up with 91

You are running a 91 tune right? You shuld only have to add the 91 tune and not change anything else to you car right? And i wouldn't be running a 91 tune when you are still burning 87 octane gas, wait till your tank is as low as you can go, add 91. Then drive it a couple miles to get the 87 out of the fuel lines, and that will be good.

OK nevermind i see your tuner only has a 93 tune in it sorry. But wait till you have all that 87 out of your tank, or as much as possible. Running 87 on a 91 tune is not good.

yea i return it back to stock until i figure out how to get the 91 octane..i might just sell the tuner and get a dyno instead

mr_boogeyman,
run the predator's 87 tune until the gas is out, then run the 91 gas, when you install the 93 octane tune go into modify tune in menu!
go to Global Spark Advance, when the scene comes up, it should resemble a slide scale(-10---------X--0---------10+) move cursor two degrees to the left as I shown in example scale! That retard all timing in program to 91 octane setting! upload tune follow instructions and drive the hell out of the car! Good luck avoiding tickets after that! LOL

THANK YOU......I had at -10 before like Mike said and also since it said to go to 10% retard on the manual, hopefully it didn't mess anything up

Confused here. In my Manual for the u7146 it says to run at least 91 octane for the predator tune. Why are you saying the tune requires 93 octane? which tune reuires 93 octane?

Mustangs do not get 87 octane tunes...

Each point represents a % not a deg so find out what your intial timing is and do the math. This is for a U7146 mustang tuner that is set with a 93 octane tune, trust me I have done this way to many times.
