Upgraded for inTune i3 to newest Trinity

Post by dadrainer »

Hi folks,

My INTUNE i3 was stolen recently but my awesome girlfriend bought be a brand new Trinity to replace it! I drive a 2018 Pentastar Challenger (GT) and I've already done the PCM swap as I had to for using the INTUNE i3.

My questions:
1) Can I plug my new Trinity to my computer for updates straight away?
2) Will my stock tune already be on my computer and transfer to the new Trinity?
3) Do I need to uninstall the unlocked PCM, install the Mopar factory PCM, and then have the Trinity read/write it?

Many thanks,
Paul

update the t2, plug it into the car and go to tune it.
If its already tuned with the i3, it will tell you its tuned and prompt you to check for an update where it should find a stock file for your car. Next time you connect to the car it should prompt you in the tune menu to load the calibration update which will set the pcm back to stock. Then you'll be able to tune it with the new t2.

I gave your instructions the ol' college try but it puts me into a loop.
Also, I noticed that I cannot use my Ignition software from my i3, version 1; when I do so it says "unrecognized DiabloSport device. contact customer support". So, I saved that version of Ignition on another hard drive and downloaded and installed Ignition from your website. Then I plugged in the device, ran the updates and followed your steps.
The device tells me "factory data required. please reinstalled original ECU to retrieve it or contact customer service. please press continue". Hit'continue'. It then shows the "PCM original backup" screen and after it hits 100%, it has me turn off the ignition, turn it on again, then the "PCM Original Backup" says 100%. It then says "PCM has been tuned before by a Diablosport product". I hit the 'continue' button and it then says, "please disconnect the t2 from the vehicle at this time. Connect the t2 to a pc with internet access and run the PC updater application.
I've done that a few times now and it won't budge.

Last part of my post for the night;

The touch screen seems defective. There are times when I won’t touch it and it’ll just start selecting things. When I went to type in my email address for example, the machine started typing the letter Q over and over without me even so much is holding the machine. There are times when it works and there are times when it will just stop working and I can’t select anything. I’ll send it back to you guys so you can see what’s up. In the meantime, I reinstalled the original PCM from Mopar so I could drive it.

Hi there,

I received a replacement T2 and the screen works perfectly, but I'm still having issues.
I used the Ignition app to update the tuner and it did it's thing. I put the original PCM back into the car and had the T2 read the stock tune. It told me to then replace the PCM with the unlocked PCM. I plugged the T2 back in and it said "PCM has been tuned before by a DiabloSport product". The T2 then says "Please disconnect the T2 from the vehicle at this time. Connect the T2 to a PC with internet access and run the PC updater application".

When I run the original Ignition that I used on my i3, the app says, "Unrecognized DiabloSport device. PLease contact customer support. Please call tech support." It is followed by a bunch of code.

When I run the newly downloaded version of Ignition for a couple of weeks ago, it says it has one update. I then get a message on the app that says "Attention! Unsupported file for your calibration not found. Please contact tech support" It then shows me a "yes" button, and then updates the device. It tells me to unplug the device from the computer. When I plug the T2 back into my car with the unlocked PCM, the T2 says"PCM has been tuned before by a DiabloSport product". It then cycles and says "One of the ECU's in this vehicle has been previously tuned with a tuning device (which was my old i3) Please restore it to stock condition and then begin anew"

How do I restore it to stock?

i expect the tool to be asking for anb update where it will request a stock file from our server, but its not there.

Im going to reset it. Please update once then try tuning it again. If it still says its previously tuned, update it again the try tuning after that.
