I swore I was never going to try to update ever again, but the temptation was to great!
So, I ran the Ignition software and updated my tool and, as was the case several times before, the tool would freeze after selecting "record" when attempting to data log. I tried to drag and drop some of the files from the downloads page, but since those were probably the same as what was in the update they didn't help.
I read in a post where some one copied their info.xml file from a previous version they had saved before updating, and that worked for them. I gave that a try, and now I have the info.xml that I copied, but it doesn't match what is on the tool.
So I plug the I3 into the pc and after it is recognized I run Ignition and it detects tool just fine. Says its downloading updates, then says writing to device, but nothing happens on the I3. Normally, I can see the updates getting written, then it reboots. However, now it does nothing and also disconnects from the pc.
Also, anything I try to drag and drop to the I3 just shows up as a file in the root directory when previously I could watch that get written on the tool.
The runtime folder also is goofy, for lack of a better description.

is there a file called group_update.itfg on the i3 drive?
If so delete it, reboot and try the update process again.

Hi Mike,
Yes, I deleted the group update. I have ran the updater a dozen times now. The Ignition Updater says "Updates Found" blah, blah...It then downloads the updates and says "Writing updates to device."
However, when it is finished, nothing is being written to the device. Normally it can be seen on the Intune's screen that updates are being installed. Same thing if a package is dragged and dropped. Mine is doing nothing in either instance.

strange. It is reporting that the installer is present and that should import the files.
could be something sitting on the drive that doesn't belong, or a pc issue. Do you have access to try it on a different device??

Yeah, I was thinking about trying it on another PC. I think I read something about dropping the USB or something.

Re: Help!!! I f'd my I3
I tried updating from another PC with no luck. Nothing is writing to the tool.
Quick question...Is there supposed to be anything in the windows updater folder besides the installer command script? This is what happens when I drag and drop to the Intune.

Re: Help!!! I f'd my I3
whoah, what are you loading there?
Those are all older files, you shouldn't be loading them
Just let the updater load the files on its own.
At this point if it tried to import one of those old files it has likely caused problems that will require the device to come back here. Please contact the support team to arrange to get it sent in. 561-908-0040.
Thanks
