JGC SRT8 tune issues

Post by Dogden18 »

08 JGC SRT8

Just got my Diablo intune3 delivered. Updated it first on my pc. I already had the updater app due to using a predator 2 in the past. Looks like my truck had previously been tuned with Diablo which was news to me. (This was stated on the intune when I first plugged it into the obd port) Had to do the calibration update as well after initial plug in. Installed the 93 canned tune which went completed normally however the truck will start up normally but quickly drop rpm and die. Tried the 91 tune as well, then reset the tcm adaptations, then went back to the “restore backup”. All exhibit the same symptoms.

did you adjust the rev limit in P/N when you loaded the tune?
If so return to stock then reload it without adjusting that for now and let me know if that resolves it.

Hey Mike. Turns out the truck is cammed. And had a custom tune on it which I didn’t know about. When I loaded the canned 93 tune the i3 saves the stock file as backup and I lost the custom tune that could run the truck with a cam. Working on a new base map now with a tuner but no resolution yet. Appreciate your reply.

the intune saves the tune that was in the vehicle already, as the backup... so, just do the RESTORE BACKUP from the intune, and it will put that previous custom tune back on....

In this case (common on DCX) it likely updated the pcm calibration prior to loading the tune, hence 'losing' the original tune...
