reduced engine power

Post by frankteter »

I have a 03 chevy 1500HD 6.0l predator u7195 cai, tb spacer, 78mm throttle body, gratenellie maf programmable sensor, 3" magnaflow cat back exhaust. I just added the 78mm tb and now i am recieving trouble codes of to much air at throttle body and rpm's surging wildly at engine start up. I have the performance tune installed and running 93 octane fuel before the tb install I received the low voltage to O2 sensor and still getting that message. all tm settings are turned off and can definetly tell a difference in power. main question is what can i do to get the reduced engine power to not come on and settle the rpm's down to normal jumps to 3000rpms then will settle down at 650-700?

I think the issue here is your non stock mass air meter.
I would suggest putting the stock one back on as the truck is likely running very lean as a result of the MAF and tune working against each other.

Just thought I'd kept it in the correct forum. This is regarding a different issue, but same topic.

I've own the U7195 programmer since when it was released for a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, 4.8L Engine, Auto Tranny, and 8th VIN #V. I'm not to sure if you need anything else. But, I’ll be glad to post it.

When you go to load any tune into the truck, do all the steps, and at the end. The information console would say Reduced Engine Power.

What’s going on there?

TRUCK SPECS:
2003 Chevy Silverado, 4.8L Motor, Auto Tranny, 2WD
Modifications: AEM’s brute force intake, Airaid Spacer, Optima Redtop battery, Flix-a-lite Dual Fan, Hypertech 160° Thermostat, SLP loud mouth Exhaust, and Custom tunes from Johan.

Thanks!

This is simply the DIC going through its cycles, it happens after any reflash.
Certainly no reducing of engine power going on around here!

Thanks
