2007 Mustang GT - Unable to load original tune

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am having abit of a predicament with my Mustang...
2 days ago I received my JLT cold air intake and diablosport tuner package.
Installation of the intake was a breeze, as was using the new tuner.
I loaded the "JLT induction tune"; I did not take the option of modifying it.
The tune felt great, really tightened up the throttle response, but I wanted more power. Since I have 94 octane available (and in the fuel tank), I went to the "performance tune" menu, selected the "JLT induction tune", and proceeded to bump up my global timing by "3". I also corrected axel ratio, and my revs/mile. The tuner asked if I would like to flash the computer now, and I choose "yes".
I turned the ignition off, then on (following onscreen instructions), then I waited....and waited....eventually the tuner said "could not detect ignition on, make sure you don't have a performance tune installed".
I then tried to load the "original backup". Exact same problem, could not detect the ignition being on. It also always tells me to make sure I don't have a performance tune installed.
I have tried other tunes in the "performance tune" list, same message and lack of ignition detection apply to all.
Any advice?
