i3 and setting fans

Post by CB95 »

Hello!
I have a ‘17 Ram 5.7 with a Hemifever 93/ZF tune through my i3.
I did the clutch fan delete/efan swap + 180 T-stat today.
Loaded up my i3, selected Advanced Tune, Custom Tune (my HF93 tune) and modify parameters. Then ECT and lowered this to 195 and hit SAVE. Then back button and uploaded the tune to the truck.
I have done this successfully twice today.
However I watch my temps climb back through 195 and up to 215 (Im stationary, not driving) before I get disgruntled and cut the truck off. The fan is not coming on at 195…nuffin.
Yes, fan cuts on with AC. The model IS the right fan Dorman 621-410. New. Its obviously powered correctly.

What am I missing here!?!?

Thanks!

chances are the pcm doesnt know you have an e-fan and needs something flipped on to control it.

I also had a similar situation Then ECT and lower this to 195 and hit SAVE. It worked again.

Yeah, mine wouldn’t take. Its set now, but that was through HF. Works like charm. Thresholds are lower than I thought they would be he has forgot more than I know about it.
