Throttle angle???
I have a 04 mustang gt. using u7146 I am aware my throttle cable has lots of slack therefor I do not believe it is opening up all the way. On my log file the throttle angle is 951.8 a/d counts at wot. how far off is that.
RE: Throttle angle???
better idea. take the intake hose off of the throttle body, and use your hand to open the throttle body with the linkage assembly on the throttle body. That way you can see if for some reason the pedal is hitting the carpet before the throttle body is opening up all of the way. Otherwise, your foot is literally forcing it open and nothing really would obstruct it. This is better than using key counts to figure it out IMO

intake hose??? i cant take off the intake and see if the plate is going level yes, but as far as seeing if when the pedal is to the floor it can open more i dont see how tat would work. thanks tho, i will start there
RE: Throttle angle???
The intake hose is the intake you referring to. There should be a flex hose going from your airbox to the throttle body. You do not have an electronic throttle control motor on that model year so you should be able to open the throttle with your hand on the throttle linkage on the throttle body. If it goes open all of the way, then you dont have any slack. If it stops because the pedal is not allowing it to travel all of the way, then you can adjust it but this is highly unlikely to occur. I honestly dont know why you think the throttle is not opening all of the way unless you have been adjusting the linkage recently and you feel less pedal travel than before. The throttle cable linkage is spring loaded so there should be no slack evident. That is why I asked that you just take the intake hose off where it meets the throttle body, and then manually open it and close it to see if it moves freely and completely.

RE: Throttle angle???
I did. it appears to be opening all the way. the reason i believed that is becasue I have about an inch of slack in my cable, i compared the tension on my throttle cable at the TB to other 04's and mine is WAY looser. i cant think of what it could be. it causes my car to jolt back and forth when all the sudden you take the foot off the gas at lower rpms... especailly first gear
RE: Throttle angle???
there should be a spring tensioner on your throttle cable. If that has worn, or if there is any obstruction to the cable than that coudl explain the issue with your rpm's.
Another option would be that the low rpm's in first gear are jolting back and forth because it is about to stall.

http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/99pedals.htm Try this tecnique. Did it on my car and it feels great.
