U7165 9R04 Problems

Post by joeymt3 »

I updated from the R20 to the current 9R04. Here are the problems that I encountered and the comparison to the R20. I would also like to say that I've never had any problems with the R20 and would like to go back to it since I still have it on my laptop.

The 9R04 Towing tune doesn't seem to have any problems but it does seem alot weeker than the R20 Towing tune.

The 9R04 Economy tune is great. The power compared to the R20 seems to be alot better. This tune is more powerful than the Performance tune.

The 9R04 Performance tune seems very weak compared to the R20 Performance tune and compared to the 9R04 Economy tune. This tune also causes a surging problem under light acceleration. It doesn't seem to happen at a certain RPM or speed. Only at light acceleration or maintaining speed.

When I switch back to the stock tune the symtoms are not there. The vehicle's maintenance is great...oil, fuel filters, etc.

Come on DS guys????

I am posting a problem with your product.

It has been a week now since my first post.

I called you guys once with the problem already, I was told to wait 2 days until the next revision comes out. YEAH RIGHT!!

I know you guys stay busy, that is why I have waited patiently for a week.

I see no reason not to use 8r20 for now if that is working that much better for you.
We'll look into it and see why these issues came up for you, but not everyone else.

The next revision should be an improvement as well.

Thanks

Which tune do you use the most?

Thank you for responding. I usually use the economy tune. I feel like the 9R04 tune gives better throttle response and I believe better fuel economy. So I would rather use the latest tune but R20 does work well for me. I would really like to try the 9R04 performance tune.

thanks again

The 2 codes thrown are low injector pressure and system readyness. See http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?na ... pic&t=8294 for my post and comments by PSDPlayer which I find very interesting since he is not employed by Diablo.

I'll have to get a truck in here to test and then I'll see about getting you guys fixed up. Probably have something by the end of the week if not early next...
