i3 Dodge with new OEM PCM

Post by MrDavidOgle »

I have a 2010 5.7 Hemi Ram 4x4, that was recently completely rebuilt and the MDS system completely removed, and MDS disabled in the PCM. Now, 5000 miles later, its throwing P0014, so a different shop did advanced diagnostics and said my PCM needs replaced because it's throwing a bad/false P0014 code. So I bought a brand new OEM PCM. I also bought the DIABLOSPORT INTUNE I3 PLATINUM #8345, because I thought I could use it to program/flash the new PCM to my VIN. But after reading some post on this forum, it sounds like the new PCM must be installed and flashed by the dealer to factory settings before I can connect the i3 to turn off the MDS and change the tuning. Yes?
No? Thoughts? Suggestions? Where do I go from here!

Yes, a new pcm will need to be programmed in the vehicle with dealer tools for it to work in the vehicle and communicate with the other modules, etc.
