I just bought the Predator 2 for tuning my truck to assist in towing my 37' 7800lb camper. I'm not sure the best tune to go with and would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Also the reasons for your choices would assist me greatly. Also some fuel economy while towing wouldn't hurt my feelings.

if you use 87/89 octane gas, then select/install the 87 Octane Tune

if you use 91/93 octane gas, then select/install the Diablo Tune...

I have read a few posts over the "super reliable internet" saying the canned 87 tune won't really make a difference vs the stock tuning as it is already tuned for that at the factory. What changes are made with the 87 perf tune? or do I really need to bump up to 93 to see much of a difference.

Best results will absolutely come from using premium 93 octane fuel and the 93 Diablo tune. The 87 tune is designed to add a bit of power while allowing you to run 87, and also get the improvements from the throttle and torque management changes, etc.

Maybe the last question.....what about the Diablo towing tune? In my case, would you recommend the 93 tune or the towing tune? What octane does the towing tune require?

the tow tune is based on the 87 tune with optimization for low end power, but if available, the 93 tune with 93 fuel will provide the best total torque output for towing.
