2015 Challenger help

Post by TrumpXLV »

Hello all!
I just bought a 2015 Dodge Challenger that had a tune in it and also came with a i3 tuner. The owner said he had a tune in it but couldn't remember what it was (been years ago). Anyways, I was tinkering around with the tuner a few day ago and I believe I applied a different tune than what was on it. So, I started looking up more about the tune and the i3 to try and get it a tune that I wanted on it.

Before I get into the steps I did in my tune, I will just go ahead and ask my question. Where will I see "Shift Response" at? I seen a people in a challenger forum talk about turning it to "firm". I haven't seen that option pop up anywhere when I'm applying a tune or modifying parameters.

I installed the CAI 91 tune. After it applied, I went and modified the MDS to ON, Speed limiter to 190, I think the rev limiter is at 6600, and I kept traction control enabled. My tire size is 28" (245/45/R20)...but my back tires are 275/40/R20 not sure if that makes a difference) and I turned my throttle boost to 20%. I thought somewhere in that time I should have seen a shift response option, but i never did.

Am I doing something wrong? Is it not available on mine? I thought maybe it's because I had the MDS on, but I turned it off and still didn't see it.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm learning on the fly.

Thank you!

the firm shift setting was specific to the older 5 speed cars, 15+ 8 speed has a transmission tune with some firmness built into it.

Thank you for the reply? Is the transmission tune something that is done automatically?

Yes, you should have a TCM tune selection option or it should be asking to update the TCM calibration.
