Predator U7135 - Can't connect

I picked up a MSRT8 about a month ago and the car came with a Predator tuner with a custom tune installed for some heads and a cam. I wanted to have someone take a look at a log just to see how if there needs some adjustments (the car was last tuned in '08 apparently..) but I can't seem to get my Predator to connect. Tried a new cable, new drivers for the USB-Serial cable, nada. System is Windows 10 so i know the prolific driver needs updating but even after all that, no go. Any advice? I'm gonna get a new programmer but need to get the tune off first. Thanks!

That is a very olllllllld, discontinued version programmer that is no longer supported... can't do anything with it... If the vehicle was tuned with that, then you could do the Restore Backup process and restore the original backup stock tunes to the vehicle from that Predator tool... Then the Original Backup stock tunes would be back on the vehicle.. And then you could trade in that olllllld predator to diablosport for a discount on buying the new inTune or Trinity programmer from them...

restoring will lose the custom tune that is on there now, keep that in mind.
Have you confirmed in the device manager that the USB to serial cable driver is properly installed?
It should show up under 'ports'.

Oh trust me I know!! I remember using this in 07 with my first MSRT8. I had an i3 for my '12 CSRT8 but I let it go with the car when I sold it. My plan was/is to get an inTune and pull the tune off the old Predator, load it on the inTune and then go about my merry way.

The device manager sees the serial cable when I plug it in but it doesn't even show up on my device list as a selectable drive. I'm going to try it out on another laptop I have to see if that works. It's an older computer that hopefully won't have a prolific driver issue. I'll keep you updated. Otherwise it's back to square one as you mention.

Well, same issue. Device Manager shows the USB serial port is recognized with no issues but the Predator still doesn't pop up in my list of devices. I can't believe that it won't show up. Are there any older drivers that may work?

does it show the serial cable assigned to a specific com port (like COM10)?
If its too high you may need to reassign it to something below 25 or 30.

When I plug it in, it shows COM4. Is that too high?
