06 R/T Charger

Post by CaptainJ »

New Predator with the latest software.

Lights still flickering while on the highway in cruse control at around 70mph (happens at all speeds). Vehicle still lurches or stalls for a fraction of a second as well.

Tried all predator tunes. It will not do this with the stock tune.

Thats a new one to me...is this a custom tune or one of the canned tunes?

Caned tune. I first used the 93oct CAI and gave it a few days to work before going back to stock. Then I went to the 91oct CAI. The car kind of dies and then kicks back in with a little surge (in about .5sec). At the same time all the lights dime and then come back on.

Sorry to hijack but, you wanna hear a good one? My TPMS sensor has been going off like crazy for weeks now and could not find the cause of it... Tires were good, tried multiple guages to make sure pressure was accurate. Idiot light on the dash would flash and dinger would "DING" after 15 minutes of driving, then every 15 minutes after that. Last night I flashed my car back to stock tune from 9r05, so I could get some routine service done at the dealer. Funny thing is, my TPMS sensor did NOT ding today. The only thing that changed is flashing the car to stock with the Predator. Weird huh? I am going to flash it back tonight after my baby has had her driveline fluid transfusions (Rear Diff, Transfer Case, Front Axle Fluid, Synthetic Oil).

If you look at the other thread, where I posted the exact same problem, I was told to flash it back to stock and let you know if it fixed the problem.
I did flash it back to stock and the power surge/lurching and flickering lights did go away.

You want me to log something?

Update.
Running the 91OCT CAI tune.
Firmer Shifts
Lower Fan Settings (Do the fans draw enough power to temporarily cause the lights to dim)
Idle up 50 in D with AC ON
Idle up 100 in P with AC ON.
MDS OFF
EGR OFF
Fuel 2% Rich in all 3 RPM bans
No speed limiter

Now the power surge is gone!!!!
Must have been the MDS and EGR getting turned off.

However, the lights still dim a little periodically but not as bad as before. What could be causing this?

Also, I have a flat tire now. :(

I just asked because with the tunes, torque management is reduced and the switch in and out of MDS is much more pronounced. I was just thinking maybe that might feel like an instantaneous stall? Although no one has mentioned the thing with the lights before so there might be something else going on there. Maybe they're related and the MDS switch triggers the other thing. Might try only turning MDS back on and see if the problem comes back.

Oh yea, I highly recommend DynaPlug instead of using fix-a-flat. www.dynaplug.com

Thanks. All this fussing around is fast becoming less and less fun. I went to get a CMR tune yesterday and the guy talked me into a super charger so I am sure I will have even more issues when that is done. LOL

No kidding. I guess that would fix it as well. I went in to ask a questions about a Lambo tune and it turns out they do Dodge as well. :) 392? Shit the guy had an 1100hp motor sitting next to his work work table he would have put in for me. Not sure I want to run on pure alcohol just yet. :) I bet he could solve my flickering lights by replacing the front fascia with a racing one and stickers for head lights. :) By the time I went out of the place I found out I needed a new suspension, a super charger, and a full custom exhaust. Here I though it was a loose fuse or something. LOL Anyway I am going with just the Super Charger.

Everybody has been really impressed with the Vortech so far. Comes with a tune (conservative) that works out of the box, metal piping, etc.
