i3 Platinum - Read failed error when trying to install 87 octane Tune

I bought this DIABLO INTUNE I3 PLATINUM (DBL-8345) Purchase date 10/10/2023.

I have tried unsuccessfully for two weekends now to install several different “Tunes” (unmodified tunes) with no success on my 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 hemi.

It does do a backup of the stock tune, but when it tries to install a Diablo standard Tune (87 octane) it errors out with a “Read Fail” every time. Then the Truck will not start (dead). I unplug the tuner and plug it back in and get the message ( tuner in recovery mode etc..) and does do a restore of the Stock tune with success. I’ve tried everything I found on Diablo’s Forum concerning this error while trying to install a 87 octane tune to no avail.

Please advise,

this generally indicates the pcm was previously tuned with something else that changed the bootloader and didn't put it back. do you know if it was previously tuned with something else?

I am the original owner of this truck and bought it brand new in 2014. This is the first time for me to use the tuner and bought it from Summit racing on the 10th of this month. I purchased it to turn MDS off. Thanks...

Apologies. Sorry to hear that, the alternative was going to likely be sending the pcm here to have us check and correct the bootloader. Best of luck if you choose a different solution.

Thanks
