i2 for '04 silverado

So probably 5 years ago I bought an i2 tuner for my 04 silverado 2500hd with the 8.1 in it.
The tune that came with it was terrible. The truck couldn't idle, after a "fixed" tune I would experience fuel cut and bogging, they gave me a third tune, the truck wouldn't start with it.
So I spent time ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

aftermarket stereo is unplugged as we speak. It's a smart deck and uses power when it's not on. I disconnected it because I was going to be gone for the coldest months. Tuner still isn't doing anything. Have a friend who is a mechanic from the GMC dealership coming over to my house now to see if he ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

So I finally got home and got around to doing this. The tool worked, installed the tune. The tune though is terrible. Lots of hesitation leaving stop lights etc. This is a motor with just under 4k miles on it. Again though, we have a bigger problem than just a bad tune. I tried to rewrite the stock ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

Well it's been two weeks since I had this problem now. And we still haven't made any progress. Just how patient should I be given the fact that I paid for a complete and finished product that is neither? I am trying to be really nice about this, but don't sell me something that's not finished when ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

Nobody ever responded to let me know if the last file were what were needed or not or if further steps need be taken. If they are, any idea on when we might see the problem resolved?

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

PCM_12587704_Backup.grg If these aren't what you need I don't know what else to do for you. If it needs to install a tune in order to record my stock one, well we're sol. The unit has reverted to failing to write any tune to the vehicle again. Windows has been telling me this whole time that there ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

So after getting no response. I re-installed the file to the tuner. It doesn't seem to have any problems writing or reading now. As long as I don't change anything. The only problem now is the diablo tune is garbage. The motor chokes out at 1,700 and takes about 3 seconds to accelerate past that ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

I tried to load the 93 octane tune and when it actually loads and doesn't fail. The truck runs like crap and is in reduced power mode and wont go higher than 1,400 rpms. That's without changing anything and just letting it install. If I try to change anything other than tire size it wont write the ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

So after attempting to get it to write back to stock 7 times it finally wrote it. The truck seemingly runs fine now on the stock tune. That doesn't solve the issue that I seem to have a 400 dollar paperweight though. I don't understand what's wrong with this thing. I have an intune on my 08 charger ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

It took about 10 minutes for it to install the update. Took it out to the truck. Was no longer operating in it's safe mode and just came up with a menu for applying a tune. So I applied the tune. The first two times it said it was unable to identify reading parameters. Then on the third time it went ...

Re: 04 chevy "read failed" and driver issue on pc

yeah that tool was in recovery mode, and would not load the stock tune. The truck tries to turn over, but doesn't fire.
