I have read on several forums and there appears to be some people that claim that their 4.8 runs like a raped monkey with a custom tune. Could I benefit from one? Where can I turn ON the Raped Monkey option on the predator???

I thought mine was decently quick, I expected less than 16 second flat ...

At least the mileage has gone a little up. 12.5mpg from like 11, and heavy abuse 10.5.
Ouch! That's seriously low! I've got the lightest combo available, regular cab shorty, besides the heavy factory 20's, but with the summer blend gas I'm averaging 18-19 combined.

Re: RE: Re: RE: Barely Beat an F-150.. WTF???? Please Help!!

my bet is that the truck you raced had the 5.4L 260 HP V8. It also probably had 3.73 gears. The Ford 5.4L is all about low end grunt torque that peters out at the top end. The heads and cam just dont flow well up top. Hence he beat you off the line.

I'm with concoursd, I bet it was the Triton 5.4 ...

He's correct. The U7193 is what you would want. It retains factory programming to run e85. FLEX7193 is converting a non flex engine, to run on the corn stuff.

Recalibrate the dyno??

.....lost/

 Recalibrate the butt dyno, he isn't feeling the gain from the driver's seat.

They say 100 lbs. is a tenth in the quarter, I wouldn't think you would feel it too much in a truck close to 5000 to begin with.

True, these huge trucks don't hold a candle to ...

The 4 speed can do just fine, it's not holding your truck back from making more power and accelerating faster. GM pulls the power to the ground on take off and downshift/upshifts to have a drivetrain combo that will last a looooong time. From the factory it's good, but not great. Tuning can make it ...

sickRED was joking, on the newer engines, the fuel is supplied beyond the intake manifold, the spacers do next to nothing. The may work well on older vehicles with a throttle body injection or carb, where the fuel was mixed with the air at the throttle body.

Would changing the width of the tire on the Predator have any effect? For example putting 295/75/16 or 295/70/16?

The newer ones are controlled so much by computers, that most likely if you go too low and never hit closed loop operation, it may never run right. It would probably keep your truck constantly pig-rich. If it were me I would not go below a 180 degree.

I bet that you over oiled your K&N. Happens all the time. If so, your MAF is covered in oil and can not read the incoming air correctly.
