I just sold my Pedator on ebay. It is for a GM 2004-05 duramax lly. The buyer has the same truck. Will it work on his truck or did it lock into my vin? If it is locked to my vin, what can be done to make it work for his truck? Thanks for your help

Unless you put the original backup tune back on your vehicle, yes it is locked to your rig and will not work for anyone else.

How is that a glitch. It keeps you from tuning more than 1 car. Therefore making more money for Diablo.

Yeah, definitely not a glitch, but rather the standard practice in the handheld tuning market.

what if...hypothetically...user A restores his original backup...then programs user B's like truck so user B can decide if he wants to purchase his own programmer. Can user A then restore user B's factory tune and go back to using it on his own truck (A) again?...I think I just confused myself...well, you get the idea....?

Yes, that is OK.
You can only tune one vehicle at a time.

That's like free advertising! Person A should get a $5.00/day fee from Person B if person B buys one of his/her own!

it also depends on the model predator and the revision it's on though... cuz some of them, depending on the software revision it's on, will NOT unlock - even after the original backup is restored. It would have to be sent back to Diablosport to have them unlock it...

Yours MI99XPL, is a perfect example. You're on revision 1.03... yours will NOT unlock after you restore the original backup - you would have to send yours back to diablosport to get it unlocked.

Now, if you were on the 2.xx revision that's available for your 7198, then it WOULD unlock after restoring the original backup.
