Dealer Flashing
I just have, I hope, a simple question. I have an 05 Mag 5.7L and I plan to take it to the dealer in a couple of weeks to have the transfer case serviced on the AWD (shudder symptoms).
The dealer mentioned to me about flashing the PCM/ECU and TCM to the latest updates for my model year/vin, etc.
My question is: If I return my stock tune, with all parameters reset and reset all my quick adjusts and basically bring the Predator back to "unused". Could the dealer's flash of my PCM/ECU and TCM cause a Calid issue and render my Predator useless?
Just want to know what I am agreeing to with the dealer before I agree to it.
Thanks,
KC

RE: Dealer Flashing
Yes, as long as you restore the backup, it will work with the new updates from the dealer, but you may need to update the Predator if it is not up to date.

RE: Dealer Flashing
What Mikel should have said is no. You will not have anny problems with the preditor. You may need to up date the preditor if its not up to date. Put everything back to stock before you go to the dealer and you will be fine.

LOL.
And My answer was:My question is: If I return my stock tune, with all parameters reset and reset all my quick adjusts and basically bring the Predator back to "unused".
So, no, what Mikel should have said was not NO, I answered his question exactly as it was asked. What makes you guys come up with this stuff sometimes?Yes, as long as you restore the backup, it will work with the new updates from the dealer, but you may need to update the Predator if it is not up to date.

these topics get all twisted around.
Mikel answered the question accurately. The problem is the others are reading into it as a double barreled question.
If you have a new Calid that diablosport doesnt have in the LATEST crom, then yeah you will have a problem. But Mikel stated that you will to update the predator if that is the case. The key issue is that the UPDATE must be released in a new DiabloSport software crom that is designed to support the new calid. Until the new crom file is published, you will not be able to install the predator because the old crom file will not recognize it.

see...this is how this questions run aground and that is exactly why I started my first post with "I hope". Lol.
This is a simple question. So anotherwards, if the dealer flashes my vehicle and the new Calid is not recognized by Diablo then I am SOL until DS comes out w/ a new calid.

There is a simple way to completely avoid the potential problem.
Ask the dealer what the latest calid is, then ask here if it's supported.
If it is supported then no problem.
If it's not supported then you can decide (based on what's in the update) if you want it now and wait for DS support or just tell the dealer no updates.

There is not nor has there been a calid for an 05 that was not supported for more than maybe 5 minutes since the release of this tool.

The question was. could the dealers flash of my PCE/ECU and TCM cause a calid issue. Mikel just posted that all calids are supported for that year vech. So the answer is no it will not cause a problem because all calids are supported. He may have to update his preditor but it will not be rendered it useless. You guys read the question.
agree, however mikes post could have been stated as saying they have all the calids. whatever, Im just a guy trying to help with first hand experience with calid problems after a dealer flash, (which was unknown to Diablo, not their fault at all) dodge does change things and is changing things without tipping their hand.
Hope his works, and Im sure it will unless there is a NEW TSB for his PCM.
