Monte & Crew ,

Help !!!!!!!!!! I have ADD and no patience for reading...
I haven't been here or posted in a while. I got my U7198 ( for my 2002 Silverado 2500 HD , w/ cold air intake and cat back 3" inch duals ) upgraded in March (Pretty quick service, too ) and promptly got some diagnostic readings stored in it on th 91 Octane tune running this special Non-Oxygenated Premium they got here in Minnesota .
Then I couldn't find my set of cables that I ordered w/ my Predator in April '08....So after months of looking , I give up . But I was whining 2 a frind about having 2 spend $30. bucks or so , he convinced me that I probably have some cords around I can use...
Any feedback ? I'd love 2 get that extra 2 mpg's if possible.

Thanks ,
Mike

well, the specs for the cables you'd need are:

either a serial-to-serial cable (if your pc has a serial port on it), OR a USB-to-serial cable and the proper usb drivers for it...

and the power supply needs to be a 12v 1 amp power supply (2.5x5.5mm tip, center is positive)

Is 1.5 amps OK for the power supply w/ 12 volts ?

I have the readings saved from months ago running 91 oct. non-oxygenated gas.....is there a place I can go after I'm connected , that I can enter my data and it'll tell me what changes to make on the 91 octane tune ?

How do I save that so I can dial in my 87 oct. tune ?
How many tunes can u save ? I'd like a 91 oct. tune for a 60/40% blend of 91 Non-oxy and standard oxygenated fuel

I've seen this non-oxygenated (no ethanol added....Old style) gas in Wisconsin also ...anyone else have it around them ?

Thanks for the help in advance,

Monte and the Go-fast crew,

I need a little help. I downloaded the Dataviewer, DSLogredux & have correct cables for my upgraded U7198 ( which contains full data for a 91 octane tune's cruise). Mjy truck is a 2002 Silverado 2500 w/ 6.0L
How do I get the data from the Predator into the Dataviewer and then into the DSLRedux. I want the final dial-in details as I use almost a tank of gas a day and I 'd like to dial-in my 91 tune (since the data's in my predator already , so I can dial in an 87 tune . I'm getting 13.5-14 mpg but a 1.5 or 2 mpg boost would help my courier jobs bottom line. Next paychek I'm donating also.

hook up the predator to your PC... plug in the power adapter...

after it's booted up and is at the main menu, start up the DataViewer app on your pc...

after a few seconds, it will say it can't find or read the vehicle, blah blah blah... then go up to the menu, and 2nd button from the left is an icon of a harddrive with a red down arrow on it - click that button to download the log from the predator into the dataviewer...

once it's all downloaded and loaded in the dataviewer, go to FILE > EXPORT TO CSV and save that csv log file to your pc somewhere...

then start up DSLogRedux, and select that csv log file to open up, etc etc...

When I try to get DSLogredoux to read the CSV file it cannot/will not.
Some sort of error shows up......not at home right now so I can't remember what it actually says.

It has something to do with JIT debugging(needing to be enabled) on my computer......working nights and I don't have the time to play.

I'm running Vista 64 and it seems that there are problems with it and DSLogRedux....

no, it's an issue with Vista 64 and Microsoft's .NET architecture...

maybe Grumpy will chime in with some info...

make sure that you are an admin all the way around. 9 out of 10 times it is that issue.

The other one time, it's the .Net framework. May want to re install THAT --- again, make sure it is done from admin privileges.
