2006 300c traction control

I have a 2006 300c U7135 9r08. If I install a 91cai tune dose it turn the traction control all the way off. If not is there a way for me to turn the traction control all the way off. I went to the drag strip the other night and just for the hell of it I pushed the esp button on the dash with the 91cai tune in it. I burned rubber 3/4s of the way down the track and got side ways. I had to let off to get it back under control. I dont know for sure but it sure felt like it was all the way off.

If you were using the canned 91 CAI tune, then no, traction control is not completely off. It's reduced somewhat. You can turn it completely off by going into the Quick Adjust menu and selecting the ESP option. In there select the "yes" option to turn the dyno mode "on". Be warned. With this you will lose ABS, BAS, ESP, and Cruise control.

Brandy, don' t you think you got enough reduction in TC with just pressing ESP once? A quicker and more appropriate way to further reduce it is to stop the car and hold the ESP button down until you hear a chime and see "ESP disabled" in the info center. But I don't think there is much difference between just pressing it once and doing that. I have done some great burnouts with my old Goodyear tires last fall doing that with exactly the version you have loaded!

Better to work on slowly pressing the pedal when leaving the line to minimize wheelspin to get the best acceleration with these heavy sleds.

Pressing it once should completely disable stright line traction control (you should be able to spin the rear wheels freely). I'm not sure why you'd want to disable traction control for when you get sideways or ABS for when you want to stop? Sideways traction control is going to be so reduced anyway it's not going to help much iinside the walls of a strip. Disabling ABS just isn't a good idea at all IMHO.

I wanted to maximize HP to the wheels for lower ET. I would not do this on the street. Traction control pulls power when the tires llose traction. Iam looking to get all the power to the wheels on the drag strip.

I forgot. The suggestion to hold the button until you hear a chime only works on the SRT not the 5.7

Torque management is reduced in the tunes.
Traction control uses the torque management table for some of it's input.
Traction control's first response is selective braking, a good ways after that it cuts power.
With the reduced torque management you can spin the tires pretty well.
With a single button push you can spin the tires all day long (no power cut)

If you're doing much more than chirping the tires your ET is shot.
If you want to spin the tires 'cause it feels, sounds, and looks cool you can do that. If you spin the tires that much your ET isn't worth looking at so it doesn't matter if you lost power anyway.

So... I forgot, why did you want to completely disable everything?

I want max HP to The rear wheels at the track. I can work on the best way to get off the line and keep the tires planted. Maybe I will get some slicks. When I said I burned rubber 3/4s of the way down the track and the car got side ways I was not bragging and I do not think it was a good thing. I was trying to get the best launch and broke traction. I let up off the gas and hit it again and could not get the tires to hold. I know this is not good for ETs. I would like to make some runs with out the car trying to manage traction for me. I dont want the brakes applied when Iam trying to win a race.

But that's the point... The brakes aren't going to be applied unless you break traction. If you break traction you lost the race. I'm talking about turning over the tires just a few times.

The tunes reduce torque management. ESP uses the same table. ESP is reduced. You pushed the button and burned rubber 3/4 of the way down the track. If you're burning rubber the car is not trying to manage traction for you. Am I missing something here?

I will put slicks on for more traction but I want all HP going to the wheels. If I dont like the result I will use the traction control
