Predator killed truck computer
Tried to purchase a used Predator from one of the Dodge forums. Met up with the gut a week ago. Guy tried to install tow tune on the truck, he could not and then tried to return it back to stock which he could also could not do. Truck is 05 3500 4x4 DRW. Model 7130 was used. Truck is in the shop the past week. The techs have replaced the ECM and have not been able to reflash the computer Can someone tell me whats going on . How do you get this mess fixed ?? will I have to tell the techs a programmer was what messed it up{ warranty wii not cover repairs}Need help Truck is used as a hotshot

Thats the bad part of buying something used. You just never know what was done to it or how it was treated before you got it.

if the tune was nver installed there shouldnt be any trace of a tuner in the system.it may have been a fluke that this hapend,i have never heard of it before.dont let on to the dealer about the d-loder.just play dumb and get her fixed up.was the diesel forum the dtr?did the guy havea dodge that met you?could he install it on his truck?was it the latest version when it booted up?i dont know if diablo has a emegency boot sequence in case of a failed load.hope it works out

The diesel forum was from the Dieseltruck resource.The guy that sold me the programmer had 2004 with the 5.9 He had it on his truck with standard and custom tunes. Talk to one of the moderators over the phone and they said the same thing, play dumb and get it fixed.The problem is I use that truck as a hotshot every day that truck sits I loose money big time.

I havent seen that thread, but im sure that would make a mess.I remember reading that post and if I remember correctly it sounded like he may have pulled the Predator off before it was done loading......
Did you try to put the tow toon back in it again, I thought I read in the book that if it crashed to reboot and try the toon again and it was suppost to startup where it crashed.!?

Hey guys, i am a new predator owner and i am new here but i personally know the guy who sold this DL to 38. He told me what happened and you guys know it could happen at any time as these things do go haywire sometimes. This predator was used in a almost 700hp srw 3500 and the guy knows his stuff when it comes to perf mods. I was with him the week before he sold it while all his mods were being removed ie., twin cp3, a5k, fass, the whole nine yards which i bought. He paid a pretty penny to have all this installed/removed by a highly respected perf shop in houston. And i was with him when he removed the DL because itried to buy it too but he had allready talked to 38..... I also know he went out of his way to help 38 because thats just the type of person he is. I also know his father about kicked his ass (literally) for not coming to work that day. Hell if he had an extra truck he'd a probably loaned it to him temporarily. With that being said, 38 i hope all went well and you are haulin again bud. Thats the good thing about these forums is there are alot of people who will go the extra step for a stranger.

You know that i would like to say my truck is back on the road, but it isn't. I talk to the techs today and thre're are still stump . The been changing eveything under the sun, still no success. I tried to get the moderators to give some input with no success. I wonder why??? Going on the second week truck in the shop, no clue when it'll run again . I'm pulling hairs sitting around with no truck . Every week a loose a minimum of 1000.00. I know that the guys is sorry and all that . I have been pretty nice adout it . Haven't even ask for my money back but you know deep inside stuff is boiling.

You know thats why i came on the forum to get input from people. I don't know if you're on another forum I kind of recognize your user name from somewhere else and you r'e some kind of diesel expert. Thats what I wanted to know, if telling them would be my best option. From what transpired at the dealer ship I dont see that speeding things up. At first they said they couln"t communicate with the computer. Ordered New ECM. INstalled new ECM. couldn't reflash or program it suspected a short. Looked at instrument cluster as having something to do with it. That was not it. suspected a short.said they found short will take 3 to 5 days to get part{ some kind of harness} Started July16. They tell me part is not in the system. Have go to the assembly line some kind of sh... The telll me they will calll me back which they never do.Know you telll me do I deserve this sh--t for wanting to get a little more power to pull that trailer. No answer on the part in question No answer on when the truck will run again Not working week and a half and counting . I"m getting pisssed.
