predator on '04 6.0
I installed the 60 hp tune on my f350 6.0, and after installing it my fuel mileage went down from 16.4 to 14.8. I was very dissapointed with the amount of black smoke on accelaration, after about 450 mile it started smoking white from the xhaust. when i stopped to see wtf was up i noticed coolasnt coming from the exhaust i geuss it messed up the head gaskets. so i put the truck back to stock and i am going to deposit the programmer in the trash.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the predator caused this. When i first got my 04 F250 Power Stroke it did the same thing but it was because of a faulty EGR cooler. When you post an issue with a tune please post the Part # of your Predator (ie U7160 or U7165) and please give the software revision on the predator. This will help us know what tunes are actually installed into the vehicle.gearhead1071 wrote:I installed the 60 hp tune on my f350 6.0, and after installing it my fuel mileage went down from 16.4 to 14.8. Same here, was just a coincidence. My head gaskets were fine, but the egr cooler was shot.cole wrote:gearhead1071 wrote:When i first got my 04 F250 Power Stroke it did the same thing but it was because of a faulty EGR cooler
RE: Re: predator on
I got an 06 350 4x4 34,900 with a predator on a private sale. I took it directly to the dealer for a bumper to bumper check up. It needed headgaskets and a new egr cooler. The dealership service manager says the headgasket is secondary to the headbolts. He said the headbolts are a factory torque issue. The service manager said he replaced the EGR cooler cause it would follow the head gasket if he didn't. It was all under my 36000 bumper to bumper so it was OK with me. We did NOT discuss the Predator

RE: Re: predator on
My programmer is a u7165 and it has the r10 update. I took my truck to the dealer and they said it is probabbly the egr cooler, and the predator didn't have anything to do with it. I liked the power but it had way too much smoke, and it lowered my mileage. If u can help great if not i am not putting the program back in.
