SRT 4 Overboooosting!Need help!

Whats up peeps?! I need some help/info.I have a 2003 SRT4 with a CAI and Mopar bov(just the blue plate)and I just installed the 93 oct tune from Diablo,and ITS FREAKING AWESOME,my only problem is at 3rd and 4th gear its boosting at 20psi!! 1st is around 16psi and 2nd is 18psi.When it hits 20psi car feels fine doesnt seem to stumble or run rough,I just dont think thats safe and is it suppose to go that high?? I run 93oct fuel,I have changed all the spark plugs,wires and coil(it had a code for skipping about 3000miles ago found #4 wire chafed).I am not a tuner,but I love all cars especially 4cyls!So any help would be great,I live in south ga bout and hr for tallahasse if anyone has a shop or lives close by I would be willing to drive to you.Thanks!

I would imagine the WG is causing the issues, most people seem to like the stock WG for the stock turbo, since the PCM controls boost.

20 psi isn't bad for the car(as long as the air fuels stay around 11.9 or below)...that's about as high as you want to go though. In my tunes i usually run em around 19psi that tappers to 16 by red-line. The stock waste gate is the way to go.

alright thanks man,so should i take it and get it dyno?so i can see what the AFR is,bc i dont have a wideband

Just get a wideband.. For around the same amount as the dyno runs, you can always have the wideband to monitor in the car.
Ebay is your friend!!


I think I am gonna toss the stock WGA back on and see what that does..

and i wasnt WOT,i got in it pretty hard in 3rd gear still lt and st knk stayed 0

Are you saying at the time total retard was 10, both long term and short term are at 0, or are you just seeing 10 as the max?

When you get a wideband, be sure to get one that is capable of logging.

its said LT AND ST were 0 and Below that was KNK TOT that stayed at 10.what kind would you recommend?I seen a aem one for i think 255.00

my bad it was the KNK MAX TOT that was at 10 but LT and ST stayed at zero.and also in 3rd and 4th it hits 20psi holds for a sec then drops back off,so my car should be good right?

Don't get the AEM one, you can't log with it. The PLX, Zeitronix and Innovate LC-1 are all good widebands. I believe the MAX total retard is the maximum amount of timing the PCM will ever pull. I would expect that not to change. Someone correct me if I am wrong. If LT and ST are 0, you should be good to go.

If your WOT (wide open throttle) and the knk st and lt is "0" then your good on the knock. You may be lean though and without the wideband, you are never gonna know.. Get one of the above mentioned widebands and see for yourself.

I believe you are correct. Except for the not changing part. I think the max may be different for different RPM ranges. Higher max in lower RPM ranges. At least that's the case for the hemi's.
