09 Ram Hemi,Pinging on 87 tune even with 91 octane

Tried 3 different 91 brands. Chevron,Mobile,Shell and still same result. Any help would be appreciated. Dont need engine damage.

mine was/is doing the same thing- how much knock are you seeing?

I'm having the same problem, I'm using 89 Octane. I was seeing some bad knock, so I switched back to stock. It happens mostly when MDS kicks in and when I get close to WOT. I was seeing all kinds of numbers, I believe my LT Knock was staying around 5 and ST Knock was bouncing a lot. I'm half tempted to get a custom tune unless there is an easy fix.

Yeah I've been talking to alot of other people that are having the same problem. I'm back to stock as well no pinging and its pulling harder at wot. Go figure lol! Its just not worth the risk untill we can get a better tune.

what I meant is that mine was knocking a bunch, and that I've added fuel, and the knock has gone down significantly. Certainly into a safe range, and the truck pulls harder with the tune than without. I haven't gotten it quite down to 0 knock yet, but it is definitely close. Personally, I think that tweaking the tune to get the most out of it is part of the fun.

About how much fuel did you add and how bad was the knock?

Good question. I think I might give that a try. Who knows maybe the conditions were different like elevation, temp ect.. when the tune was made for our trucks. Plus i'm sure this wonderfull california gas isnt helping either. So since I'm pinging at 3/4 throttle, I'm going to throw alittle more fuel at it and see if that helps. Wish me luck.
