2005 cummins injector knock

i just installed my predator and i tried it out on the performance tune and it ran good. Then put it on exteme tune, again ran good, but then i put performance tune back in and when i rev it up while its id injector has a knock and my truck will sputter while its idling back down. anyone know whats going on or how to fix it?

Is this when you rev it in neutral?

yea. it mostly does it in neutral but sometimes it does it going down the road

In neutral I would imagine you are hitting the rev limiter...not a good idea to rev a diesel in neutral.

its not a rev limiter. im only tapping the pedal. all the sputtering and knocking is happening when its round 2000rpms.

Odd, have you had the injectors checked?

ill try to get them checked. i have a diagnostic tool thats hooked up to my lab top but when i try to plug it in it says it cant connect to the obd 2 port. :/

Does the Predator connect?

yea the predator will connect but it wont read diagnostic codes. i had a hell of a time trying to get the tune to download into the truck. the only way i got it to go back to the backup tune was to wiggle the connector and try it a few times. and the times it doesnt download it will erase the tune out of my truck and leave me a blank ECM and then the truck wont start and i have to try to reload the backup tune again.

Sounds like a bad connection in the OBDII port maybe...

yea. ill have to try an get the port replaced and see if that fixs it

hey, i have this problem with my preditor, not sure if its an inj knock, its something in the programming, when in park or neutral and u tap on the throttle it revs up and is choppy coming back down to idle, its like a surge no fuel the surge etc, it also does this if cruise is on or on the pedal going 65mph or faster shutting off cruise or taking your foot off the pedal it surges? any help?

im glad im not the only one out there with this problem. i hope that the guys at diablo can figure this out cause other than this i enjoy this tuner alot.
