The documents were automatically saved to my computer as .grd so I can't upload them onto this site. I changed it to .doc before it saved to my computer so I could put it on the website, which apparently didn't work. I tried emailing both the .grd and .doc files to your email ([email protected]) and it wouldn't send. It said the address has been deleted do to inactivity.

I sent the email, it went through this time. Not sure what happened last time. I tried sending it twice and all I did was copy and paste your email address from here. But you should have it now. Hopefully the grd file wont be a problem because thats the only way it would save to the computer.

Tune didn't work. Speedometer stayed the same without adjusting the parameters on the new tune. I went in to change the tire size, changed it to my size, then checked the axle ratio and instead of read 7.4x, it read 7.10. I changed it to 3.73 and it saved it as 3.72 again. I tried to install the tune with the modified parameters and it would not install, it said there was an unknown problem. I tried a half a dozen time and it never went through. I tried 4.10 and it saved as 4.09 and still wouldn't load to the truck. I then reset everything and just changed the tire size and it finally downloaded. Pulled out and got to about 2 mph and the speedometer pegged over 100mph. I reset everything again and now the tune wont download to the truck at all. It keeps saying the problem is unknown. I restored the original backup again.

Have you installed any aftermarket electronics?
remote start?
stereo?
trailer brake?

I've tried unhooking the trailer brakes, taking fuses out, everything the instructions say to do and it still doesn't work. I reinstalled the custom tune to the tuner and I was able to install it back into my truck. Again, no adjustments, the speedometer was way to low, around half the actual speed, same as before. I tried changing just the tire size, speedometer is pegged past 100 mph at about 2 mph. I tried changing the tire size to 33 instead of 285/75R16 and it was about half the correct speed again. I tried changing just the gear ratio, same thing. I tried changing the gear ratio and tire size and the speedometer was pegged again. Would it be simpler for me to return this tuner for a new one and see if that works?

Sent the tuner back, getting something different. I was told that tuners don't always work well with 01 due to the fact that the speedo, tach and some other things are different on the 01s than the rest of the Duramax's. Best of luck to anyone else who has an 01 and is wanting a tuner. My advice, if it doesn't work, just send it back because it doesn't sound like there is much that can be done for you. I am going with a custom tuned ecm with two tunes on it that can be switched on the fly. It's a little more expensive, but all I have to do is swap ecm's out and I'm done. Everything is already recalibrated, including tire size, and if I ever need to go back to stock I can just put my original ecm back in.
