I knew you were going to say that. I actually did upgrade to the latest but I didn't get a chance to try it out. I wanted to get the new t-stat in and I didn't want to get the truck hot so I just said hell with it and put in the t-stat.
I wanted to datalog the timing with the stock t-stat vs the 180 t-stat because someone on the Hemi Truck forum says that his timing with the 180 was lower. Here is a quote from him.
"I did some runs on the freeway with the 180 installed. Temp was a steady 184 deg. at 2000 rmp steady crusing the timing advance was 26 deg. I put the 203 factory back in, steady 201 deg. temp, the timing advance was 32.5 deg. at a steady 2000 rpm."
Is there anything in the tune that would cause this? Does the truck think it isn't warmed up all the way so it is holding back a little? I am thinking that if this is true then my mileage is going to get even worse!
Thanks,
Craig

RE: u7137
ya it stops you at about 104mph at least it does it for my 03. there workin on that, along with tranny. the only thing you can do with the 03's(well at least me) is tire size, wot fuel, wot spark. and of course the canned tunes

Right now I would say that I've seen some differences in the new beta crom..........I used the canned tune for 87 oct and it appears that the mileage has improved +1 or 2 mpg.........havent had the time to drive the 03 like I want to.....have a company car......so next time I make a trip in it will tell all............especially if I tow my enclosed trailer, full of tools and toys to my retirement property..........8 hrs away from here.......NOTE: Had some jerk turn left from the center lane in front of my wife and I last night as I was turning right.....put the pedal down and the 03 said hang on.......needless to say got away from being hit....I'll stick with the canned tune.......for now.lumpy69 wrote:Day 30 report

Would be nice to get something new here. Been sitting with the same "Updateable Programmer" for about 6 months now...Like I always say, some downshift parameters would be nice for the '07's...

I have been using 9t03c.
I like 9t03c, don't want to switch if the same feature aren't in the newer Croms.
any more shifting options being planned, 3-4 & 4-5 up, 5-4 & 4-3 down?
do Crom 9r04 & 9ro5 have the 1-2/2-3 tranny upshift & downshift programming that is in 9t03c?
observations about 9t03c:
part-throttle 1-2 & 2-3, 3-2 & 2-1 up-shifts/downshifts are a neat feature, but some shifts don't seem to get set @ the rpm selected.
example: I set 1-2 up @ 5% TPS for 2,000 rpm & it got written to 1,850 rpm, 2-1 down @ 10% TPS for 1,800 which set @ 1,750 rpm.
I have found that set up/down shifts need to be set further apart since shifts don't get set at the selected rpm.
1-2 & 2-3 WOT shifts have been right on every time, set them for 6,200 rpm & they get written at 6,200 rpm.
being able to raise 3-4 & 4-5 WOT shifts would be nice, can it be done?
