Puck issues on 2003 dodge ram

Post by CODYJ24 »

Have had the power-puck on my Dodge for just over a year now and everything has been good. About 2 weeks ago the truck started losing power and reving up but going no faster when i tried to pass someone or go up hills on the highway. I tried all 3 positions on the switch and got same results - I hooked up "Predator" and looked for trouble codes but got nothing. This morning i unplugged puck and reverted truck back to stock and everything is good again. ( i did have issues when predator tunes were installed, but returned to stock at 1st hint of problems 2 weeks ago).

I bought this on e-bay so i need to know how much it will cost to get fixed or just cheaper to leave stock?

thanx

So....I am not following, do you think it is the puck or the predator causing the issues?

I restored truck to factory settings via the predator 2 weeks ago, (and had only been running in the stacker mode). So for the past couple weeks the truck has been only using the puck - i also replaced the fuel filter last week just to see if there was some restrictions on the fuel delivery side. But after driving to work this morning and having the truck act even more sluggish i decided to unplug the puck and see what happens.
I plugged factory wiring/connectors back into place and drove and the truck was as good as new - so it was the puck - I wa just using the predator to see if any trouble codes came up.

Sounds like something is slipping in the driveline.

no - i plugged puck back up and got crappy acceleration again ( lots of revving but no faster moving) .
disconnected puck again and truck is good again.
Something is goofy inside of the puck.

I wonder it they will fix it for you or if you are stuck with a puck that doesn't work. Mines doing the same thing, gonna call diablosport tomorrow to see if it's fixable.

power puck

Post by 2500beast »

are both of you guys trucks stock with the predator and puck added to them. if they are that is your problem. when you add that much horse power and torque to a dodge 48re stock transmission they will burn up. i have had 5 transmissions in my truck until i had one custom built to handle 1000hp. no problems since. my truck is not stock at all, you had to beef up your fuel delivery at least a 30 over injection pump, bigger turbo, boost fooler, induction and have to have at least 4 inch exhaust from turbo back.
2003 dodge 2500 4x4. industrial diesel modified cp3 and silver bullet turbo, 5 inch exhaust, cold air induction, and u7130, quadzilla boost fooler, heavy duty drive train
