91 To 93 Difference
So I Put In 93 Tune And I Swear The Car Isnt As Fast As It Was With A 91 Tune....It Feels Fast....And As Smooth As My Wifes A** But It Feels Like I Am Driving A Fast Lincoln With Bad gas Milage Not A Mustang, I have A u7145....Why Is This?
RE: 91 To 93 Difference
Are you using 93 octane fuel? Are you hearing any pinging? If pinging occurs it will compensate by pulling spark timing and reducing performance.

OK, well, theres the issue, you need to at least be running one of the CAI tunes.

RE: 91 To 93 Difference
What kind Of Octane Are In THe CAI Tunes?
RE: 91 To 93 Difference
It can likely be tuned for either 91 or 93. The 05+ models are very sensitive to any intake changes, and the computer needs to be re-calibrated in almost all cases for it to run properly. It's not so much an octane adjustment as it is a parameters adjustment, but a higher octane (93 vs. 91 octane) tune will allow for more timing.
RE: 91 To 93 Difference
Does this also apply to a 2000 Mustang GT with a CAI?
Re: RE: 91 To 93 Difference
No, it does not. You can do all the bolt ons in the book for a pre-2005 GT and not "have" to tune it. It will definitely benefit from a tune at that point though.autobot04 wrote:Does this also apply to a 2000 Mustang GT with a CAI?

So I Ran The JLT Tune....The Wrench Light came On, And it Sputered And Stalled And Would Barely Run Before It sputtered And Stalled Again.....So I Just Put Back In The Normal 93 Tune......Couldnt I Just Increase The Maf Curve On The 93 Tune or Something?

Your best bet would be to get a custom tune for that AEM intake, or look into an intake that is supported by the Predator.

RE: Re: RE: 91 To 93 Difference
keep experimenting with MAF curve and other CAI tunes with that odd ball intake. you will eventually get a nice sweet spot. Or, if you are not into the trial and error process, get a custom tune from a cmr dealer like mike (tuningss)
RE: Re: RE: 91 To 93 Difference
more advance does not always mean more hp or torque. The optimum tq curve (0) sits in a range of 5 degrees. so -21/2 >0< +21/2. In this range its almost impossible to tell the difference. If you sit at the high end of that range however, the engine feels much more stressed. I agree with you, and that is also my own experience, that in most cases the 91 tune wih a CAI like i.e. Steeda gives at least the same power, but feels much more "lose" less disstressed.
