Help 05 ctd preator issue!

Help I have been running a puck and a quadzilla boost fooler for 3 years with no issues at all.
Got a preater for X mass and I up loaded the Extreme stack.
I realy didint want to run that much I would rather have the premormance stack tune I am still running a stock tranny.
My problem is that my truck is serging on hwy and when I rev it up in park the dang Idel goes crazy and wont go down even after 30 seconds.
I halfto turn key off.
I cant have this thing killing my Rig!
So I droped my puck and now running just the performance tune and boost fooler not surging any more but I realy want to use my puck.
Any Help will be Great.

Oh yea I have an 05 CTD 5" Mbrp, Airaid intakeand, 5"TQ Tube, puck and preater and Boost fooler.

Yes I tryed the extreme Stack tune.
The stright performance tune is ok but if I take off to fast the it blows a boat load of smoke.
I mean thats ok and all but I had outher programers on higher hp tunes not blow half as much UN burnt fuel out the pipe.
Thats why I want to run my puck for more timeing.

the puk doesnt add timing,its a presure only box,thats why they have stak tunes so u dont run to much presure,is ur pred updated to the latest crom,i had the same runaway idle on my 04 and i now use the latest crom and the custom rkl tunes with no added timing and she runs great,try those and let us know,

I called tech support and Mike said that runnung thr performance tune and my puck will be fine .
I got my hardware today to up load updates and tunes so will try some outher set ups.
Also I was told by them that the puck does pressure and timeing.
I am also running a boost fooler to help my egt's.

i wish the moderators would put up a stiky stating what each device does,its been so confusing in so many posts,theres many posts that the moderators answered that states the puk is a pres only box,then they confuse us by anserewing on the phone that it also does timing,hres a post stating it only does presure,whats the deallllllllll,,,,,,,,,,,, hahaha

It is my understanding that the Puck is a pressure box that increases the rail pressure of the fuel delivery, correct? Does it do anything else? The Predator alone can increase the rail pressure, correct? It also adjusts the timing too I think, correct? Does it do anything else (not talking about the special feature, like tire size adjust, idle up, etc.) Then I am also correct in thinking that when using the Predator with the Puck and installing a stacked tune, the difference in those tunes are they remove the increase in the fuel pressure since the puck is doing that? So in essence, running the stacked tunes in the Predator and the Puck together is really only a benefit because you can adjust the pressure of the fuel delivery from stock, 60, and 90 HP settings on the fly (or without needing to download a new tune) and essentially it also makes each tune into 3 tunes with that switch. Do I understand the functioning correctly on these units? Last question, which switch position will give you the closest match when comparing running stacked tunes with a puck with unstacked tunes and the predator alone?



You hit the nail onthe head.

Cant really answer the switch position question, as I have not monitored all of the pressures in all of the different combos.

Puck is a pressure box only....there should be no confusion there...

The Power Puck remaps the fuel delivery of the diesel injection pump and advances the injection-timing curve


This came off yalls web site am I reading this wrong or does it not say Timing!

haha,seee this is where it gets confusing,i read some posts that stated the puk for the 7130 was a pres only and the 7131 was a pres and timing,it doesnt affect me but its kinda confusing,maybe post it as a stiky stating the puk is pres only and the pred does timing,presure and duration.

It dont matter I am just running the preformance NON Stacked Tune and running my puck only when I want the xtra boost.
Dont have time to get hung up on this .
To many Fish to catch.
