Then you buy from a crook who screwed you. Not only did they charge you top dollar but they new it was locked and would cost you another $130 to unlock it. "Oh, gee, sorry about that man but I just sold the car..." hahaha, yea right. Heh, you should have asked him to pay the $130 to get it unlocked. I'm sure he would have been happy to do that since he just "forgot" to restore his car to stock.

On the other hand, maybe you could talk waun into giving you the $130 for plugging apexi over here. I'm sure he'd be happy to do that 'cause probably at least a couple of hundred people rushed over there to by an apexi. buwahahahahaha.

you were already told by mikel the options you have - either get the guy to restore the original backup to his car to unlock it, or call up diablo and for $129 they'll get it unlocked for you...

so since option 1 of having the guy restore the backup to his car is not doable... your only choice is to call up tech support, pay the $129 unlock fee, and get it unlocked... have you done that??

don't know why you are attempting to pin any of this on diablosport, when you're the one who bought the second-hand, used locked predator. People are told all the time to be very wary of buying used predators, unless they know for certain that the original backup has been restored to the previous vehicle and know that it's unlocked, but a lot of people apparently don't heed that advice.

If you tried to crack software and failed, are you a crook? or just fail.
If you tried to crack software and failed but claimed success for the purpose of extortion or revenge, are you a crook? or just fail.

But heh, it's a support forum after all. You do know that the OBDII scanner function and logging and code reading and code reseting comes free with the device. That's got to be worth north of $100 anyway.

and if you know how to use it with the software that you have that comes with the device then it will unlock it,but the stock tune is lost forever. that isnt all you have to do but for a certin model it will unlock it and it does work. jsut ask your buddy's

First off I doubt you unlocked it.

If you did, you're not licensed to use it and you're a crook. It's simple.
Even if you failed, you planned to steal it. At the very least you're ethically a crook. Probably legally too.

Seems to me no one has stated the obvious, the tuner was stolen in the first place. (Appears so, just my opinion) Not saying who stole it but pretty good market if you can steal them and then have reset as they want. However DS has apparantly put a stop to that with the charge for resettting the programmer.

Definite possibility. I'm sure there are plenty of people turning over stolen ones on ebay and the likes. Also pretty common when selling a car for people to use that as a selling point -- "... and it's been custom tuned for an extra 40 hp over stock." Then keep the tuner to sell it separately.

Dustinmp3 seems like such an honest guy that I'm SURE he wasn't told it was locked when he bought it and that all he had to do was give DS a call, or that he was just told it was locked. (and i'm not even considering the possibility that he stole it himself).

look here jack ass i work very hard and i wouldnt have stool anything. i traded for it and the person i got it from was in ohio and iam in indiana. my tech had school up there so i had him take my wheels and meet the kid so i didnt have to drive their.
