Updating U7140

I am having trouble updating my new predator to the 9r04 release. I have installed the driver from the CD that came with the USB to Serial cable and power supply and have tried downloading the Prolific Drivers v110 for Windows 7. When I plug in the cable to my USB port it tries to install the device drivers however it returns a message of unsuccessful (unable to install) I open DSDownloader and it can't seem to connect to the tool. Please advise.

Installed DSDownloader 2.2.1.4

Installed PL2303 Prolific Driver V110

Opened DSDownloader

Plugged in USB cable (other end attached to Predator) power supply attached to predator – Predator powered up

Installing device driver software (notification appears upon USB cable being connected)

Device Driver Software was not successfully installed (notification appears shortly there after)

After being advised that Windows machines are very finicky when it comes to device driver software and this isn’t an indication that anything hardware related is at fault. The only fix here is to uninstall and reinstall the software until it works. I did this for two days, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software to no avail. I tried the same with my Windows Vista laptop with the same results (Unsuccessful) I finally gave up and fired up my old Windows XP PC and installed the drivers on there. Updated my Predator just fine. Sure seems to me there is a problem with the Vista and Windows 7 driver software.

I update predators all the time on my Vista. It is an issue Vista and Windows 7.

We just put 2 brand new Windows 7 machines in my tech support office, and everything has worked fine...
