U7137 9r06 many Probs please help

Post by V8POPE »

Hi,
the car 2009 Dodge RAM 5.7L
Software release U7137 9R06
93 oct tune

Since Update a lot problems:

1. If cruise control is switch on and I drive over 200km the cruise control will
not work anymore.
I have to switch the car of before I can use the cruise control again.

2. Since my update the max speed is much lower.
on the old releases my high end RPM was 4300 round about 235km from
navigation system. (we have no limit, I like to go faster  )
with the new soft it´s only 3900 ?? Why
Is there a way to get more rpms ??

3. also when I drive slow and like to speed up it takes a long time before
I realy get the torque. It takes time before the rpm starts and runs to
the next shift point.

Hope you understand my english - sorry I´m german

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards
Dieter

This reflects my experience with the Predator and my Durango HEMI 2008. I can't see any difference between the stock and the predator tunes. I have taken the time from 0-100 km/h and all are exact the same. The predator is useless for me.

I use the highest octane full (100) which was available in Germany ...
The question was: If there should be a performance boost, what's wrong here. I don't get any answers in my previous posts here in this forum :-(

Have you logged for KR?

Does the truck not 'feel' any better, regardless of your 0-100KM/h times?

I don't "feel" any differences, sorry. I have done much tests with my car with many different fuel and tunes. I know that some differences in performance are not objective because if you 100% sure that something is better it must be better in reality ? :-)

Ok, I have done tests on a track. Wasted many hours so see if there is a change in accelerating. I have disconnected and resetet the engine-computer to get new self learning from the engine. Nothing helps. As I always drive the same 60km per day I don't have noticed some mileage advantage. With or without any tuning :-(

I can't belive that the predator changes something to my car. But I will go into deeper debugging if you can tell me WHAT I can do to get better performance? What do I need to log and what driving is needed for this logging. Please don't send me to hundred of pages instructions which I don't understand. I'm not a "car-tuner" professional. I'm a car owner with computer experience ...

bye from germany ...

could you try a simple change like raising the idle to make sure it is writing the changes?

You mean that the predator says "Tune installed" but in reality it was not?
How can I see if a tune has assigned? (Because i don't "feel" any difference with a tune installed.)

Sometimes problems will be ignored from support. I was asking about my problems some months :-( You can see the replies here ...

Dieter, you drive over 235 KM/h with a "regular" RAM 5.7 HEMI? Not a SRT8/10?

I dont know about the cruise control, these trucks seem to have random Cruise control issues.

As for the top speed, maybe you need to go in and turn off the speed limiter?

Hi Mike,

I set the speed to 190, the max value. Is there anyway to turn it off??

Yes if I´m over 190km the cruise control stops working. It comes back if I switch off the engine.

Yes I´m driving 235km with the RAM 1500!!!

That´s what the navigation says, the gauges ends at 200km :P

190 MPH == 305 KM/h this should not be an issue :-)

V8POPE same problem here with the cruise control. It's caused by the ABS/ESP controller that sets a overspeed fault code on the wheel sensors when going over 126MPH. This disables the cruise control.

You can reset it without turning off the engine by slowing down below 125MPH and turning the starter-key in the start position. It won't engage the starter (on the 2009/2010 Dodge ram) when with the transmission in drive but temporary cut the power to the ABS/ESP and transfer-case control module allowing them to reset and reengage the cruise control at 100MPH :D

PS watch-out that you don't blow the tires. The stock tires on the 2009 ram are only good for 180km/h and 235km/h on the German autobahn is pushing them....

PS2 you need an engine oil cooler when driving long distances at those speeds.

PS3 and yes I live 10miles from the German border and love the unlimited speed on the highways that you have there

Thanks Bonza,

I had the same cruise control issue. I rarely do those kind of speeds, so it isn't much of an issue, but it is nice to know how to fix it.

Captusha, I am impressed as well with Dieter's 146mph speed. I can only hit 139mph.
